The FBI Miami Field Office and the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, supported by local representatives of the FBI’s Behavioral Threat Assessment Center, conducted a workshop at the Safe School Institute in Boca Raton, Florida, to address targeted violence.
This workshop was conducted in support of the FBI’s national Threat Assessment and Threat Management (TATM) initiative.
The workshop participants included federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and other partners such as schools, institutions of higher education, community mental health organizations, and federal and state prosecutors.
The goal of the training is to enhance partnerships and information sharing in Palm Beach County on targeted violence cases and incidents; inform the participants of the wide array of local, state, and federal tools available to address these threats; and provide ongoing awareness and training about this evolving threat.
This training is proactive in nature in order to be prepared to address potential future threats of targeted violence.
