JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii – The U.S. Navy completed flushing system water lines at the Pearl City Peninsula military housing neighborhood, Dec. 22. Samples were sent to the mainland for testing and, pending results expected back next week, workers will move on to flushing individual Pearl City Peninsula homes.

Security News in Brief: Burlington Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Felon in Possession of Firearm

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Burlington man, Terrell Nicholas Wilson, age 28, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge John A. Jarvey on December 22, 2021 to 70 months in prison for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Wilson was on federal supervised release at the time of the offense. The 70-month sentence was ordered to be served consecutively to an 18-month sentence imposed for a supervised release violation. Wilson will be placed on three years of supervised release to follow his prison term and was ordered to immediately pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

Defense News in Brief: Holidays Made Merrier After NEX Layaway Balances Paid

Military families at several NEX locations had an early holiday surprise when their layaway balances were paid off. In all, 700 families at NEX Norfolk, Virginia; NEX San Diego; NEX Pearl Harbor; NEX Charleston, South Carolina; and NEX Orlando, Florida, had their layaway balances totaling nearly $133,000 paid by the non-profit organization Pay Away the Layaway, Inc.

DAVENPORT, Iowa – An Aiken, South Carolina man, Travis Lee McKie, age 41, was sentenced on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, by United States District Court Chief Judge John A. Jarvey to 325 months in prison for Production of Child Pornography. McKie was ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release to follow his prison term and pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.
