Tacoma – The former Director of Metallurgy at Bradken Inc. was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to 30 months in prison, and a $50,000 fine, for falsifying test results that measure the strength and toughness of steel that Bradken sold for installation in U.S. Navy submarines, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown.

Jacksonville, Florida –United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging Otis L. Shivers (49, Jacksonville) with possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. If convicted, Shivers faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years, and up to life, in federal prison. The indictment also notifies Shivers that the United States intends to forfeit a revolver and six live rounds of ammunition.

Two South Los Angeles men were each sentenced today to 144 months in federal prison for committing an armed robbery last year on the crowded patio of a Beverly Hills restaurant in which one customer had a gun held to his head while the robbers removed his $500,000 wristwatch, and a second restaurant patron was shot and wounded.
