Security News in Brief: Tampa Woman Charged With Access Device Fraud And Aggravated Identity Theft Related To COVID Unemployment Insurance Benefits

Tampa, Florida –United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging Rolanda Wingfield (39, Tampa) with two counts of access device fraud, one count of possession of 15 or more unauthorized access devices, and two counts of aggravated identity theft. If convicted, Wingfield faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison for each of the access device offenses, as well as a consecutive two years in federal prison for the aggravated identity offenses. The indictment also notifies Wingfield that the United States intends to forfeit any proceeds, which are alleged to be traceable to the offense.

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — The Hawaiian skies cleared for Total Force Airmen and Navy Reserve exercise participants as they took part in a first-of-its-kind fighter exercise here January 18-26.

While the Hawaii Air National Guard routinely hosts large-scale combat exercises through it’s Sentry Aloha program, this training marked the first time EA-18G Growlers combined their electronic attack (EA) capabilities with the locally-based F-22 Raptors within the joint venue.

Security News in Brief: Davenport Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Stealing Firearms

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Justin Christopher Reed, age 33, of Davenport, was sentenced on February 17, 2022, to 30 months in prison for Stealing Firearms from a Licensed Dealer. Reed was ordered to serve three years of supervised release to follow his prison term and pay restitution in the amount of $2,450. Reed was also ordered to pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

Security News in Brief: Bradenton Man Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy To Commit Wire And Honest Services Fraud And Distribution Of A Controlled Substance

Orlando, FL –United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Joseph Ellicott (43, Bradenton) has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and honest services fraud and one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Ellicott faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each count. His sentencing is scheduled for April 26, 2022, before Senior U.S. District Judge Gregory A. Presnell.
