The FBI and Española Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for a bank robbery on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
At approximately 1:36 p.m., an unknown male entered WaFd Bank, 1124 North Riverside Drive, in Española. The suspect presented a note to the teller demanding money from the bank. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and ran south on Riverside Drive.
Suspect’s Description:
- Sex: Male
- Race: White
- Age: 20s
- Height: Approximately 5’8”
- Hair: Shaved on sides and back
- Build: Thin
- Clothing: Brown or tan jacket with gray hood; dark long-sleeve shirt; black baseball cap with gray front, blue lettering, and a cross; white pants; and tan or light-colored shoes.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
