NORFOLK, Va. – Sailors taking their own lives through suicide is one of the United States Navy’s top three causes of death annually. Many Sailors who have suicidal thoughts or struggles refuse to seek help. When asked, they believe they will receive the help they need but are also afraid of being treated differently, losing the trust of their leadership and having their career negatively impacted. The Navy Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) exists to help Sailors who are struggling with suicidal ideations and to end the stigma surrounding mental health.

Security News in Brief: Justice Department and FTC Extend Deadline for Public Comment on Ways to Strengthen Enforcement Against Illegal Mergers

Today, the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) are extending by one month the deadline to submit comments as part of the enforcement agencies’ process to modernize the merger guidelines to better detect and prevent anticompetitive deals. The new deadline is April 21.
