Former Ambassador Sentenced to Probation and Fined for Violating Federal Ethics Laws and Unlawfully Aiding and Advising Foreign Government

Richard Gustave Olson, Jr., 63, a former U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, was sentenced today to 36 months probation and a $93,400 fine, for two separate courses of conduct, both of which involved his misuse of public office for personal gain.
