According to Team One Logistics Support Supervisor Thaddeus Berry, the LSC coordinated the delivery of more than 1000 requisitions in support of the strike group, with an estimated value of over $100 million worth of material. In addition, the LSC ensured the delivery of 1,700 pallets of provisions worth $4.7 million.

Berry added that this deployment, being the first for USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), added specific challenges for the LSC team.

“We had to get the ship’s personnel familiar with the services NAVSUP FLC Norfolk and our mission partners provide,” Berry explained.

He added that the LSC started preparing for the ships upcoming underway in March, with onboard meetings with the Supply Department key players.

Berry said preparing the battlegroup was a team effort for the entire LSC, citing Logistics Support Representative Zuleika Conill-Bonilla and Stores Web Operator Mr. Leroy McClan who were both assigned as the designated representatives for Ford.

“I’m very proud to help ensure the warfighters are able to perform their duties as needed due to the provisions provided by the stores web operators,” said McClan.

With the battlegroup underway, the LSC team will continue their support, ensuring delivery schedules are kept on track and on time, with the continuous challenge of keeping up with their operating tempo.

“As an LSR for Gerald R. Ford, I am proud to know that I am contributing to the ship’s mission,” said Conill-Bonilla.
