WASHINGTON – Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for International Programs (DASN IP) Rear Adm. Frank D. Morley met with the U.S. Ambassador, Hellenic Navy Armaments Director, Chief of the Hellenic Navy, the Minister of National Defence, and Secretary General to the Prime Minister in Greece on May 25. The leaders discussed USN and Greece programs that are currently in development and execution.

Defense News in Brief: Patrol Squadron 40 Completes NATO Exercise Steadfast Defender

The “Fighting Marlins” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 40 operated two P-8A Poseidon aircraft from Naval Air Station Rota, Spain in the NATO-led Steadfast Defender 2021 Maritime Live Exercise from May 20-31, 2021. Two of the squadron’s 12 Combat Aircrews executed multiple flight events conducting multinational coordinated operations across anti-submarine warfare and surface warfare mission areas, building the squadron’s interoperability and tactical expertise in a multi-domain environment.

Learn about engineering design for parachutes; bio-inspired research, including the science of seal tracking; and deep-submergence rescue vehicles, which are mini-submarines designed for rescue missions.
