While this week’s focus is National Stop on Red, the Naval Safety Center (NAVSAFECEN) would like to encourage drivers to be vigilant year-round. Created by the Federal Highway Administration, National Stop on Red Week aims to educate drivers about the dangers of red-light running and how to reduce the number and severity of crashes.

GROTON, Conn. – Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) EIGHT Detachment Groton, recently achieved a major milestone completing over 1,500 high value unit (HVU) escort missions at Naval Submarine Base New London. A small detachment with a big mission, the team operates 34-foot patrol boats to provide force protection for high value units transiting in and out of the Groton, Conn. base.

When Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class Zachary Williams, a Recruit Division Commander RDC)  at Recruit Training Command (RTC), spotted a certain recruit across the pool where he is currently working as a water survival instructor, it was all he could do from approaching the recruit whom he’s known most of his life: his younger brother.

Caleb Williams, 18, of Carollton, Georgia, arrived in June for training at the Navy’s only boot camp where his older brother, Zachary, 24, of Carrollton, Georgia, trains recruits.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – The tri-service maritime strategy was at the forefront of the first day of the Sea-Air-Space 2021 Exposition (SAS), an annual event hosted by the Navy League of the United States. Leaders from the sea services discussed integration, Arctic domain readiness, facilities and maintenance readiness, and Indo-Pacific security during the first day of the exposition. The exposition, which is held August 2-4 at Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland brings together U.S. defense industrial base, private-sector U.S. companies, and key military decision makers for an innovative, educational, and professional maritime-based event.
