The Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Mansfield Resident Agency, announce the arrest of David L. Holdcraft, 28 years old, of Bucyrus, Ohio. Holdcraft has been charged federally with Distribution of Visual Depictions of Real Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct and Possession of Child Pornography.
On February 25, 2022, members of the FBI’s Mansfield Residence Agency conducted federal search warrants for a residence in Bucyrus, Ohio, the person of David Holdcraft, and a Ford F-150 truck. Several items were seized pursuant to the search warrants, including an SD card, computers, storage devices, USB drives, external hard drives, and cellular telephones. The SD card was previewed by special agents and found to contain child sexual abuse material (CSAM) images and videos. The other devices have been submitted for a full forensic review.
Holdcraft agreed to be interviewed by special agents and stated he had downloaded CSAM from online sources. Holdcraft looked at various online threads containing CSAM material and would download the material on his cell phone and share the CSAM through online applications as a way to help other members of the group find new CSAM.
Holdcraft had his initial appearance in front of United States District Court Magistrate Judge Thomas M. Parker on February 25, 2022. This matter is considered an ongoing investigation and no further information outside of the federal complaint affidavit can be released. The details contained in the charging document are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
Any pertinent information from the public regarding Holdcraft can be provided to the FBI Mansfield Resident Agency Office at 419-525-2200. Any questions regarding this press release can be directed to Special Agent Patrick Lentz at 216-522-1400 or at pblentz@fbi.gov.
