Military families in the Northwest region received a nice surprise when they were told their NEX layaways were being paid off. In all 150 families had their layaway balances totaling nearly $48,000 paid in full by the non-profit organization Pay Away the Layaway, Inc.

PACIFIC OCEAN – During a series of tactical training exercises, Maritime Prepositioning Ships Squadron 3 (MPSRON 3), Coastal Riverine Group 1, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25, and U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam refined some of their operational skills during joint service training near Guam April 14-18.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – As of May 26, 2021, Navy Medicine providers have administered more than 1,000,000 COVID-19 vaccines to Sailors, Marines, DoD civilians and beneficiaries at 65 medical and 13 operational Navy sites around the world. Over half of active-duty Navy personnel have been fully immunized and vaccinations continue to occur rapidly.

Two Bolivian nationals and three U.S. citizens were arrested on May 21, and May 22, in Florida and Georgia on criminal charges related to their alleged roles in a bribery and money laundering scheme. The former Minister of Government of Bolivia and another former Bolivian official are accused of receiving bribes paid by a U.S. company and individuals to secure a Bolivian government contract, and then using the U.S. financial system to launder those bribes.
