That’s what happened to Electronics Technician 3rd Class Julianna Kowalewski-Silva while she was working at the coffee shop aboard USS Portland (LPD 27).

WASHINGTON – The Department of Justice announced on Dec. 22, 2021, a global resolution of its criminal and civil investigations into Balfour Beatty Communities LLC (BBC), one of the largest providers of privatized military housing to the U.S. Armed Forces, for defrauding the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and U.S. Navy, in connection with a scheme to defraud the U.S. military.

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii – The U.S. Navy completed flushing system water lines at the Pearl City Peninsula military housing neighborhood, Dec. 22. Samples were sent to the mainland for testing and, pending results expected back next week, workers will move on to flushing individual Pearl City Peninsula homes.
