The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), a ship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKE CSG), returned to its homeport of Naval Station Mayport on July 17 after a six-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of operation.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Carla McCarthy, deputy public affairs officer at NETC’s Public Affairs Office in Pensacola, was selected as NETC’s second quarter of Fiscal Year 2021 Senior Civilian of the Quarter (COQ), and Brooke Passione, information system security officer and Navy qualified validator for NETC cyber security, was selected as NETC’s Junior COQ.

MONTEREY, Calif. – Congressman Adam Smith, 17th Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), visited the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), July 13, to participate in the university’s Secretary of the Navy Guest Lecture (SGL) program. Smith discussed the critical role of creativity, innovation and emerging technology in U.S. national security during his presentation, “Advancing Our Defense Technological Leadership,” offered live to students, faculty and staff in NPS’ King Auditorium and broadcast online.
