PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Cmdr. Houssain “Sam” Sareini relieved Cmdr. Donald J. Curran III as the commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94) during an Apr. 9 change of command ceremony. The ceremony took place aboard the ship at National Steel and Shipbuilding Company Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland spoke yesterday with David Lametti, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. In their inaugural conversation, the Attorneys General discussed a number of transborder law enforcement issues, including cybercrime, as well as violence against women, minorities, Indigenous peoples and other historically disadvantaged persons.

THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – High above the Arctic Circle, surrounded by thousands of miles of ice and snow, Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 1 went to work. While the nation’s adversaries continually look to the Arctic as a new gray zone battleground, the Naval Construction Force (NCF) proved they can operate there, too.

NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain – The Legend-class national security cutter (NSC) USCGC Hamilton (WMSL 753), the flagship of the Coast Guard’s fleet, with the Sentinel-class fast response cutters USCGC Charles Moulthrope (WPC 1141) and USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142), completed a stop for fuel at Naval Station Rota, April 14, 2021.
